Detailed description of the three grid settings of the AD software

Raster settings for AD16

The AD16 system has three types of grids: visible grid, electrical grid, and snap grid. The function is to make the parts and wires line up neatly when drawing.

Snap: captures the grid. If the set value is 10mil, the mouse cursor drags the part pin. When the visible grid is within 10mil, the part pin automatically jumps to the nearby visible grid automatically, capturing The grid is also called a jump grid, and the capture grid is invisible.

Electrical grid: If the setting is 30mil, press the left mouse button. If the mouse cursor is within 30 mils of the electrical object, pad, via, part pin, and copper wire, the cursor will automatically Jump to the center of the electrical object to facilitate the operation of electrical objects: select electrical objects, place parts, place electrical objects, place traces, move electrical objects, etc., electrical grid settings are large, cursor captures electrical objects The range is large. If the setting is too large, it will be mistakenly captured on a distant electrical object. The capture grid does not work while the electrical grid is working. Capture grid and electrical grid: The system automatically selects and switches. When the cursor jumps accurately onto the electrical object, the cursor changes to a white octagon. At this point, the electrical object can be manipulated: move, edit. The shortcut for turning the electrical grid on and off: shift+E, each time you press shift+E, it is displayed on the bottom left side of the AD16 screen. Press and hold the CTRL key while the PCB is being routed to temporarily turn off the electrical grid. The electrical grid is invisible.

Visual grid; a grid that can be seen in SCH, PCB editing. The parts that are visible are aligned neatly.

In the PCB board, snap: English menu is snap (capture grid), Chinese menu is: jump grid. The role is to ensure that the part's pins are aligned to the nearby visible grid. Capture the grid to choose the 25mil most reasonable shortcut to capture the grid: shift+ctrl+G, enter 25mil best. When the part's pins are within 25 mils of the visible grid, the part pins are automatically aligned to the visible grid.

Set the visual grid of the PCB board: under the English input method ----- Press G in the PCB state ------ jump out of the number menu ------ select a value (25mil best) - ----- If you press G Jian ------ continuously, it will become the capture grid input value. The value of the grid can be seen on the bottom left side of the AD16 screen.

The visual grid of the PCB diagram, the capture grid, and the settings of the appliance grid can also be set in the menu view----grids. The visible grid is the largest, and the capture grid and electrical grid are smaller than the visible grid. Use the system defaults.

Switch grid units: press Q to switch, metric mm and imperial mil

Snap x: The unit is mil or mm. If the set value is 40mil, when the mouse drags the part pin to move and the horizontal distance from the visible grid enters the range of 40mil, the part pin automatically jumps to the nearby one. Depending on the grid.

Snapy: The unit is mil or mm. If the setting is 40mil, when the mouse drags the part pin to move and the vertical distance from the visible grid reaches 40mil, the part pin automatically and accurately jumps to the nearby visible. On the grid.

Componentx: The moving step in the horizontal direction when moving the part. When set correctly, the part can jump to the nearby visible grid accurately.

Componenty: The vertical step of moving the part. When set correctly, the part can jump to the nearby visible grid accurately.

Press G to display the visual grid setting dialog box, press CTRL+G to display the size of the current visible grid.

Change the SCH library grid: view-------grids, set the capture grid to 1, the visual grid to 10, or the tool ------docment-----option- ----Set the capture raster and visual raster units.
